About the Password Generator

This password generator creates random passwords directly in your browser. It uses cryptographically secure browser randomness rather than predictable pseudo-random values.

What makes a strong password?

Use a long password—16 characters or more is a practical starting point for many accounts.
Use a unique password for every website or service.
Include several character groups when the website allows them.
Store passwords in a trusted password manager instead of trying to memorize every one.

How this generator works

The tool builds a character pool from your selected options, guarantees representation from each enabled group, fills the remaining positions securely, and then shuffles the result with unbiased random selection.

Understanding the strength estimate

The displayed entropy is an approximation based on password length and the available character pool. It is useful for comparing settings, but it is not a promise of how long a real attack would take.

Privacy

All generation and copying happens locally on your device. Toolslight does not receive, store, or log your generated passwords.
